The Povoação de Meridãos, parish of Tendais, has its origin before the foundation of Portugal, and the first document of which there is record that speaks of this place is 1109.
In 1514, the county of Tendais receives a charter from King D. Manuel I, and was later extinguished in 1855, annexing to the county of Cinfães.
It is located in the Serra de Montemuro, in the valley of the river Bestança that will empty into the river Douro. From there you can discover a variety of natural landscapes.
